I got reliance wimax connection about a month and a half back and I would say its pretty good in terms of speed (I am on the Rs 750/-, 4 GB download plan) but bad in some other ways and nightmarish in some actually. Technically speaking the service goes down for like a day almost every week. This is very frustrating as it comes back predictably in the evening.

Another big issue is with their billing. I got a call today saying that my last bill is about Rs 2100. This came as a shock to me as I am on the Rs 750 a month plan with 4 GB download free in that. Now I am pretty sure that I have not crossed the 4 GB download limit. Now this portal reliancebroadband.co.in is pretty unusable because most things don’t work very well. Half the time it says your usage details cannot be shown as system is going upgradatation !!!! (They can bill me for that usage but cannot show it ..)

I go back and check the usage for the 1 month and it shows me for the first 15 days … Here is a snapshot of one of the screens

As you can see in the screen on 27th I have used around 397000+ MBs which is around 400 GB. With this kind of billing sofware, they have sent me a bill of 2k+. I check my unbilled usage (for about a week and it says 3 GB! and after I complained it started showing as 1.2 GB .. great !)

Now comes the worst part: I register a complaint by emailing them (The guy on call won’t take the complaint). I get acknowledged for the email with a complaint number and next day my internet connection is disconnected. I call up and the guy says I should pay my bill and he cannot give me more details. I send another email and after sometime a guy calls me to say that please go to a webworld and pay Rs 3k . Now this is ridiculous .. My due date for bill is 13th September and I am being asked to pay the last bill and some more already on 6th September. There is no email or call before disconnecting my internet. I had paid my last bill before the due date so there is no justification for this. As an ISP you cannot cut my internet connection whenever you want without any notice and before even the due date for the payment is passed.

I am still waiting for the resolution for this but I wanted to write about it so that people can read and think and then go for this connection. I am sure a few thousand per month is a lot of money for internet connection in India.

    I am another victim of Reliance Wimax.Aplied for the connection more 1.5 months back and got it finally last Friday after a lot of calls made to the dealer (during one call they said the customer requested for a cancellation so not done the installation).the speed was poor (2 Mbps /4GB was my scheme) ,it just disconnect in between downloads making me to redownload it again.but from Monday onwards the connection got completely stopped. I lodged the complaint on last monday and was given a complaint no:.I called on Wednesday again as no one shown up.Then I was told that my call is found closed in their system(!),and given a fresh no:.again on Thursday when called another promise that on Friday somebody will make it.On Friday evening I called again and I insisted the call to be escalated and wanted to talk to the manager.After holding for 20 minuets somebody else pick the call and I got the same promise again that some body will attend it soon. Now I have given them time till tomorrow noon and if nobody shown up,I will terminate the connection. I have the airtel pillar in front of my house but patient for the wimax connection because I wanted to encourage the new technologies. I expected some technical difficulty as this is a new system but expected that somebody will take care of it too.But now I feel ,I shouldn’t have opt for it.

    Update: I have changed to the Rs 999 300kbps plan. I get about 280kbps generally and last 10 days, my net has gone once for an evening. I also got a call from reliance (without complaint) assuring me things will be fine from now. I guess someone read this blog :)

    Yes, Reliance Communication Sucks !!

    Technically speaking they are very poor. Apart from the horrible billing system, they are having the worst customer support with a very good number of untrained people, if you have experienced the hell called “Reliance Web World”. Now that’s another story, good bailed me out for not being a privileged reliance customer.

    We are paying money for the service(s) and not for the trouble. I guess, you’re just another victim …

    Reliance Wimax really Sucks. Majority of our time goes in trying to get a connection. But once connected, it works fine. The actual trouble is getting connected. The Cutomer Care is hopeless. They treat customers, as though we’re dependent on them or stuck with them.

    I got the wimax connection in bangalore from reliance it worked for 15days without any issues , now i am not able to get the DHCP IP address , and not able to connect during my daytime , if i try early morning by 4.00am it worls withoit any issues , called reliance support , they told something to do with the equipment in my premises, but i dont understand if that is the case why it works early in the morning .either the load has increased which they are not able to cope up with it or there is something , i guess not with the premises equipment .

    After two days still they are yet to send the service executive as per reliance support commitment.
    I think once the market established they are least bothered .

I applied for the Reliance and BSNL same time, to my bad luck I got reliance first,so I cancelled BSNL broad band when they called me for connection. Now once again I have to apply to them not sure when I get it. I have no Airtel broad band facility, other wise I would have opted for this.

    I have taken this connection to work from home, never gave chance to work from home.

    DO any one know procedure to approach Consumers Forum and Consumer Awareness NGO, whom we can approach with our problem. Its nothing but cheating the customers and I fell in India ISPs are exploiting the customers like anything. Do any one bear if their mobile phone work like this. when this problem not causing to other communications like Land line, Mobile Phones why its happening to the Broad band connections by all the vendors.

    I hope as a group we can do something …

    This month, despite the 999 plan (unlimited 300 kbps) my bill is 2300/- … when i got to the webworld and ask for breakup they don’t have it. You either pay what they ask for or wait for disconnection.
    Is there anyone from reliance browsing the internet and seeing what state their service is in ?
    So many comments on this post simply show that nothing matters to them and I am not the only one suffering

    **Update** I checked back in my account page and the high bill is because I have used 3.1 GB data in the 9 or 10 days of the month that I was on the older plan this month. Crazy !!!

    I also took a Wimax connection about 3 months back. I was on the 750/4GB plan. After about three days, I realized that I was surely going to cross the limit of 4 GB. So I called the customer service and was informed that I could change my plan and be saved. And then starts the nightmare, two days after I upgraded (Rs.1499/7.5 GB) the connection became more unstable than Karnataka government.

    I kept getting the DHCP error and those stupid customer service guys had no freaking idea of what was happening and kept giving me some stupid commands that I know will not work.

    So technically I was down for more than 3 days a week. Then came nightmare number two, the bill. The bill was for about Rs.1950, and all my usage added up to less than 6 GB and I was on a 7.5 GB download plan. So I asked them to rework my bill, which they refused, and when I said that I technically had more than 1.5 GB still left. They said that is not there problem, is it not. If I had the connection working, I would have surely made use of it or even if I had exceeded the limit I would have paid for it. But paying for service that you cannot use is just bullshit.

    Whenever the connection was working the speed was awesome, but alas, it hardly works.

    Reliance needs to fire the guy who head there Wimax department, Kill the guy who runs the technical support department and castrate the guy who handles billing, then might be they will improve.

    The reliance wimax connection was taken on 25 Oct 2007 and was working fine until 7 Nov 2007. From 7 Nov 2007 to 9 Nov 2007 Network upgradation was done from reliance side. Then the trouble started that I couldnot get the ip address. I complained several times to the customer care and told them I will pay the bill only when I get the proper service.

    They sent me a bill on 19 Nov 2007 with due date on 17 Nov 2007.

    Till now, I have given 9 complaints and still they are unable to solve it. Most of the time, I can download at 1-20 KBps but not able to login to yahoo/gmail.

    hi strange problem 2 me i have connetion of relaince broadnet a flat fee plan after a months i dont recive any bill so i just arrive 2 web world at andheri lokhanwala and jogeshwari svroad web world but they say this servies is not in mumbaiso we cant give u bill statement whats this plz tell 2 me i also tell them i use this servies 4rm last months but they always say 2 me only data card servies is awalaybe in mumbai so plz look this strange problem

    I am from Pune, my problem is suddenly my outgoing stopped. I mean mails only incoming. Same problems with my Outlok express I can receive mail but cannot send mail. Speed is fine connection is good. When u dont have anyother broadband service providers this is good option. I have been using Dataone, Sify, Airtel and now Reliance. Technically this connection is more reliable atleast it is wireless broadband rather going for wired broadband, as u know corporation keep digging road for road works and poles are errupted. But my problem for not able send Emails is riduclulous dont know whats the technically worng with this connection.

    I have got reliance wi-max broadnet on Sept 22, 2007 and unable to use due to DHCP problem. Finally got resolved on Nov 2. It went without much problems upto Nov 27.

    On Nov 28th, reliance guys disconnected the connection due to non-payment of bills from Sept 22 ->Oct 27. Remember, in this period those guys unable to fix DHCP issue. I have placed more than 5 complaints for the same issue.

    Currently I have paid for one month bill and got the connection back on Dec 14. After 3 days the connection is again not working.

    Any way I suggest everybody to buy reliance comm stocks. They know how to make money :)

Primary reason being the blasted thing never gets an IP once you reboot. Speed is has never come up to 2Mbps anyway, but the whole irritating fact of having to login to a rickety web app is really the pits. Ive had it since October,07 and I think its been down 80% of the time. Ill be moving to some other ISP as soon as I get another option. My problem being, nobody other than BSNL gives any form of connectivity to where I stay. Reliance WiMax has shot themselves in the foot with their lousy, pathetic and screwed up implementation of a WiMax network. And Im pretty sure that downgrading to some unlimited package wont make any difference in speed, because AFAICS, I only get a max of 600Kbps and that too in random spurts. Not worth it if you ask me.

    Hey I am lucky enough to get the BSNL broad band connection. Its a great relief as got out from Reliance Wimax night mares. Now I am very happy with the BSNL broad band connectivity. I can use as many system I have in home. No need to do prayers to keep the connectivity (Always on Always happy).

    Damn…. i have sify Broadband (wired) and it sucks big time low speed and any time it gets disconnected plus during rainy season net connection will be out for months…and now i have applied for reliance Boradnet and after reading this i feeling like not a good time ahead for me …

    He was telling me some thing stuff like Now tata is giving the wimax broadband connection only at 750/ Rs per month for an unlimited plans.

    I was surprised for me little bit doubt Can somedy tell me Is it really a correct or not.

    I had requested for a New connection from reliance.
    Immediately they collected 500rs and they came for installation.Since it was not feasible they rejected the connection.When i ask for the payment have been told it takes one week it comes by courier cheque……..Will i really get this money……

    Reliance info comm foray into the Wimax (Wifi Internet provider) came with lots of promises and today even after 3 yrs it stands as a bag full of lies.

    The scenario which i am portraying is not in terms of money but covers greater issue an issue of trusting the company which deals with not only internet but also trades in stock – market , power sector investments and various segments such as food etc which touches customers life and their trust in the organization.We trust them with our life when we consume their food product,we trust them with our belief when we hear information from them and we trust them with our life and future when we invest our life savings with them…

    But question arises here… is our trust one sided only… are they misusing our trust for small profits … is their policy itself based on lies ,mislead and cheating customers from step to step no matter how small or how low the organization stoops to have its share of profit by scraping and slicing the trust and the hard earned money of the costumer.Well this organization certainly does that… its not story of mine but millions other who have been cheated and today may be this blog makes the world hear and see the truth.

    Day 1 : A call from reliance info comm telling immediate installation of equipment on payment of installation charges: 500 bucks.I paid it and to my surprise 10 days had passed before installation finally took place.
    Day 11: The system was setup and the net connection was finally completed.
    Day 12: Oops… No Net Connectivity : Call to costumer care to put a complaint
    came with a pleasant surprise :Sorry your details are not updated.But they promised to rectify it within 24 hrs.
    Day 13: I placed another call to the call center… *** Why am i mentioning the calls to call center ? Answer : I am paying for each callcharges@per minute from my pocket and i finally get to hear a voice only after auto-voice response has been processed. ***
    Day 14:Same as above : only difference i called 4 times.
    Day 15 …. Day ….Day 18…. Till day… ( I think the promised 24 hrs of the first call was never fulfilled.)

    Now the cherry top to the story :

    Even after so many days the excuse given to me is: Sorry sir,your details have not been updated on out system.

    Well if a organization cannot update a simple request details of where he has installed his system ,how can we expect them to handle our money,how can we trust them with our life cause here every time they were deceiving me… lying to me … with no sense of responsibility and utter ignorance towards the needs and care of customer… The reason : Customer already paid 500 bucks … he has to pay his monthly committed bill amount … and worst the ignorance he’s just one customer from a large customer pool… why care for one customer.

    Nothing would be an apt than my story as a classic satire
    and its quiet a comic relief if you read about the way they talk about “Dreams” on their website :

    The Question is : Can you really trust them? Are they worth it… Because amongst all this …
    you and i are finally one amongst their large customer pool…?

    Think is there any other organization available… if you have already placed your trust just re-eval your options available because an organization that deceives one customer would not hesitate for others and especially if the stakes a higher… and stock profits are better.

    guys most of the problem seems to be in banglore and some other parts of the country.i have a reliance wimax connection in mumbai since the last two months, and i have no problems with connectivity,billing or any other issues.after paying 500 Rs got the connection on the third day itself and since then no problems atall.i am very happy with the service.

    I have a 600 Kbps line here in pune. And it works fine except for a few days here and there when I dont get an IP. The minimum speed till date has been 50Kbps and the MAX has been 80 kbps…. which is ok (600/8 = 75 Kbps)

    Also, if your connection gets disconnect then you will be having a tough time dealing with their support.

    I used it on that very same day for some 1 hour or so… and after that wanted to connect yesterday night, almost around 12.00AM (had a very important assignment to complete!) Guess what the connection dropped dead. And the pathetic situation here is I can’t get a proper number to their customer care dept.

    What will I do yaar? Who can get an internet connection for some Rs.562/- alone. I am confused after reading this article. You and others here have nailed all the possible risks I’ll going through with this connection now.

    Hey guyz, I’ve been using Reliance Broadband for over 2 years now in Pune and also got one more Wimax connection in Hyderabad 3 months back. Totally agree that Reliance has got most pathetic and rude customer care representatives who continue to assure you of speedy response and this comes as a rude shock when you call customer care for follow up on your last complaint and realise that last complaint is closed without even contacting you, forget the resolution. I really had worst time when I was wrongly billed for 1.5 GB download in less than 4 minutes (~ 50 Mega bytes per second)..Can you believe it and after coercing them for 2 months to close the account permanently, these charges were removed. You must be interested to know why I am still continuing, reason no. 1, in terms of speed, they deliver what they promise, reason no. 2 I was a victim of Airtel Broadband where 2mbps connection used to work at less than 1200 kbps and frequent disconnections, never faced such problems with Reliance. When you are taking wimax, make sure Reliance Tower is near to your place of interest, that way it works best.

    Guys, finally my problem ;) I stay in New Sangvi/Aundh area in Pune. I called up reliance broadnet (wimax) guys for a connection at my home on 19th August 2008. 21st, the sales guy took the application form and INR 562 from me and then I got a call from them for installation on 23rd august (impressive though).After quick installation, i was told that there is a problem in their tower nearby, so net connection can’t be tested. in the evening, the guy came again and completed the setup. but i wad told i can’t get userid the same day and would get next day (sunday, 24th).So finally on sunday i got the net connection. AND IT WAS NOT BAD as i got the new connection in 5 days, which is what i was expecting. (Though i did threaten them the day one when i requested for a broadband connection that I will unilaterally cancel the request if not done with in a week!!!, may be that worked). SO FAR SO GOOD…

    Now the real pain..I took the 2Mbps/750INR plan. few days i have not noticed speed. one day, when i started voice chatting with my friend (in skype), the culprit did show its face. broken voices..I though i have got 2000Kbps line, and voice is breaking in this connection, let alone video which was supposed to be my next test. Now it it is time for sanity check of claimed speed. used both reliance’s speed measurement tool and SPEEDTEST.NET, and guess what i was getting a speed of 350-400Kbps D/L speed and 250 Kbps U/L..and that’s NOT good..many times I tested the speed which keep on varying in mile wide..crap 200Kbps to soothing 1265Kbps ..but i can ssee many times it resta arounf 400Kbps +/-, which is just 20% of what i should get (2000Kbps, well u may add upload speed, still damn less).
    Called twice to CC and was told my details are not still in theore system! (it has been 2 weeks!) and that they have escalated it to their concerned dept. And i got a call from them today (2nd Sep) saying that they have send details to CCare, but what about my complain??? i aksed taht guy that i have complained about lower speed he still instisted that he has sent details to CC. And then he hung up!!! I am yet to call CCare again..I am still not sure if the guy did something about it or send some information to CC. got to check to night and will update what happens next.

    Ref : Subscriber ID : 395861348536——- Bangalore;
    Sub :Poor Service,Limited or No Connectivity and Billing Problems
    Several calls to Customer Service and Emails as below;
    1) Aug 18th Email at 08.54 am
    2) Sep 2 nd E mail at 10.03 am
    3) Sep 2 nd Email at 10.51 am to Ms Lakshmi.V—Nodal Officer—Bangalore
    4) Sep 3 rd Email at 08.49 am to do with attachments
    5) Sep 5th Email at 11.37 am to Ms Sharmila P with attachments
    And several calls to them at Rcom House ,T Daserahalli—Peenya, Bangalore
    Let me Repeat : we always after log-in , Log out then shut my PC

    Summary :There have been many problems with my BB connection and inspite of many
    Calls , there have been no response and till date unable to set my Email Account
    and except for one visit ( to adjust the Antenna ) no engineer has visited me in
    tha last 4 months.Still as a very ethical customer I had been paying the Bills on
    time. My usage over the last 4 months has been very low—only about 500MB
    against a permitted usage of 4000MB.As a reward Reliance Com had the
    temerity to put my BB connection on Temperory Suspension for some fault in
    their system/billing errors./poor security etc.due to the high usage seen.
    This has caused me a lot of inconvenience, mental agony and unable to talk to
    my family members ( in the US ).Spent over rs 600 to call to yr Mumbai Office.
    Here is the analysis from Aug 11th thru Aug 30th of the Rcom usage report against my
    personal Log Book entry at home.

    Aug 11th : One usage report—at 12.35 hrs is ok. There was no connection at 18.22 hrs
    And yet yr report says—start time 18.22 for 3.22 hours.?? Kindly explain.

    Aug 12th : My log details and Rcom usage report are similar

    Aug 13th : When tried to Log in at 04.30 hrs there was no connection, and called your
    CC who said that there is a server problem –All India and gave me a
    Complaint No :73873288..So whole day my PC was Off and yet your
    Rcom usage shows 8 times totaling 9 hrs and 23 MB transfer.Kindly explain.

    Aug 14th ; My 3 log-in times is similar to Rcom usage report.However after log out at
    18.00 hrs my PC was Off..Rcom usage shows start at 18.27 for 2 hrs is not
    possible.Also when I logged in at 21.00 hrs there was no connection.Only at
    22.00 hrs this came which is reflected in Rcom usage report. Kindly explain.

    Aug 15th : and Aug 16th :: My log details and Rcom usage reports are similar.

    Aug 17th :: I logged in at 06.15 hrs and logged out at 10.25 hrs. and not at 11.51 hrs,
    My PC was Off the whole day How come Rcom usage report shows usage
    At 3 times @ 10.52 hrs,15.59 hrs,and 16.01 hrs totaling 10 hrs at 48 MB.
    Kindly explain?

    Aug 18th: There was no connection from 07.15 hrs and called yr CC and gave me
    A complaint No: 74173421 and said this will be corrected by 21.00 hrs
    I logged in at 22.03 hrs and logged out at 23.30 hrs..How come your
    Rcom usage report shows 7 start times totaling 13 hrs and 56.66 MB
    transfer. Kindly explain ?

    Aug 19th and Aug 20th ;; My log details and Rcom usage reports are similar.

    Aug 21st ; I logged in at 05.40 hrs and is similar to Rcom usage report.My PC was
    Off from 06.48 hrs till evening.How come your Rcom report shows
    Extra 2 start times at 07.42 hrs and 12.14 hrs totaling 2 hrs ? Kindly
    Explain ? other 2 start times are similar to Rcom report.

    Aug 22nd : I logged in at 05.56 hrs and logged out at 06.38 hrs and my PC was Off.
    Rcom report shows additional start time at 09.50 for 2.49 hrs. Kindly
    Explain ? the other 2 start times –18.51 hrs and 20.48 hrs are similar.

    Aug 23rd: The 2 log in start times of 06.16 hrs and 15.30 hrs are similar to Rcom
    Bt the fig is not 16.50 hrs.

    How come Rcom report shows 04.37 as start time when my PC was Off?

    wrong and erratic and you are trying to penalize hapless consumers.I have lost all confidence in your Wireless Broad Band system if you do not provide proper
    Security and fast response time .
    In the last 10 years I have had Dial-Up and DSL BB system with almost all your competitors
    and the billings/usage with minimal error and 6 hrs turn around time . at Delhi

    Let me know how you are going to compensate me for this trauma within 24 hrs.

    1) Aug 18th Email at 08.54 am
    2) Sep 2 nd E mail at 10.03 am

    Let me Repeat : we always after log-in , Log out then shut my PC

    Summary :There have been many problems with my BB connection and inspite of many
    Calls , there have been no response and till date unable to set my Email Account
    and except for one visit ( to adjust the Antenna ) no engineer has visited me in
    tha last 4 months.Still as a very ethical customer I had been paying the Bills on
    time. My usage over the last 4 months has been very low—only about 500MB
    against a permitted usage of 4000MB.As a reward Reliance Com had the
    temerity to put my BB connection on Temperory Suspension for some fault in
    their system/billing errors./poor security etc.due to the high usage seen.
    This has caused me a lot of inconvenience, mental agony and unable to talk to
    my family members ( in the US ).Spent over rs 600 to call to yr Mumbai Office.
    Here is the analysis from Aug 11th thru Aug 30th of the Rcom usage report against my
    personal Log Book entry at home.

    Aug 11th : One usage report—at 12.35 hrs is ok. There was no connection at 18.22 hrs
    And yet yr report says—start time 18.22 for 3.22 hours.?? Kindly explain.

    Aug 12th : My log details and Rcom usage report are similar

    Aug 13th : When tried to Log in at 04.30 hrs there was no connection, and called your
    CC who said that there is a server problem –All India and gave me a
    Complaint No :73873288..So whole day my PC was Off and yet your
    Rcom usage shows 8 times totaling 9 hrs and 23 MB transfer.Kindly explain.

    Aug 14th ; My 3 log-in times is similar to Rcom usage report.However after log out at
    18.00 hrs my PC was Off..Rcom usage shows start at 18.27 for 2 hrs is not
    possible.Also when I logged in at 21.00 hrs there was no connection.Only at
    22.00 hrs this came which is reflected in Rcom usage report. Kindly explain.

    Aug 15th : and Aug 16th :: My log details and Rcom usage reports are similar.

    Aug 17th :: I logged in at 06.15 hrs and logged out at 10.25 hrs. and not at 11.51 hrs,
    My PC was Off the whole day How come Rcom usage report shows usage
    At 3 times @ 10.52 hrs,15.59 hrs,and 16.01 hrs totaling 10 hrs at 48 MB.

    I logged in at 22.03 hrs and logged out at 23.30 hrs..How come your
    Rcom usage report shows 7 start times totaling 13 hrs and 56.66 MB
    transfer. Kindly explain ?

    Aug 19th and Aug 20th ;; My log details and Rcom usage reports are similar.

    Aug 21st ; I logged in at 05.40 hrs and is similar to Rcom usage report.My PC was

    It is my 4th month of rel wimax service. First 2 months were horrible, terrible, ble!! be it customer service, be it their “technicians”, be it their “billing (killing ;)) dept”, all suck big time. no coordination between these groups.

    My first two months billing were, oh my god, terribly incorrect. My actual bill should be 1600 INR, they send me bill of 5372 + Late fine…they don’t care which plan I have, u c.. they just charged me per MB usage…It is only when i would take my spread sheet and calculate actual usage and calculate fees ( I almost repIaced their billing dept , and i did that for two months, taught them school maths, they understood those finally, almost like in hell). have exchanged almost 12 mails with them + 10 such complaints + threatened them going to Consumer court + a lot of, really a lot of scolding in emails, then on 3rd month they finally sent me the correct bill.

    And again they are keep on cheating on speed..I am supposed to have 2000kbps speed ( PLAN 2Mbps/4GB/750 INR), guess what i am getting..some where 200-300 kbps, some times even less.

    The only reason I am still with them is i don’t find any vendor providing “wireless” broadband in Pune. May be i will switch soon,,,

    advice: Keep record of your data usage ( if u have limited usage plan) in an excel sheet from reliance site regularly, else all your billing will go for a toss. you will end of paying huge amount even if u r not used that much.

    There seems to be a bit of misunderstanding too… Before I can even proceed let me tell you all something for sure that I am in no way related to Ambani Bro’s or an employee of Reliance Communications. This is what I feel and practically have seen in all these months.

    Reliance WiMax is not all bad. Why “not all bad” just because I am unable to judge the quality of technology they use for user authentication.

    Others… as in Chennai, guys from Mithra Enterprises handle this for me. They are really cool. The marketing executive Yuvaraj is kind and practical. The installation engineer, Karthik is even more kind, patient and practical. Why I refer them to “practical” as well is because, they tell you what they actually get done later.

    So here is this, ever since my first comment here, I never ever experienced an issue with them or the internet connection (billing included.) I recently shifted my house and voila they are already there as soon as I fill up the address change form. I was unfortunate these days that after the formalities got over it was cyclonic and heavy down pour here in Chennai. And so, the guys were unable to set it up for me…

    Yesterday when the weather conditions sprung up for temporary calmness… they installed it and it is working as graceful as ever. :)

    Please shoot any queries that you may have pertaining to what I have said here.

    bpradhan, I am sure you are associated with reliance communication in some way, these people harassed me as well. Connection speed is very slow but that okay, the problem is its down more then 2-3 days in a week. Thats sad and there is no follow up from customer care. I have applied for mtnl broadband they are much much better then reliance.

Connection speed is very slow but that okay, the problem is its down more then 2-3 days in a week. Thats sad and there is no follow up from customer care. I have applied for mtnl broadband they are much much better then reliance.

    Hey guys I got in contact with (Unit Setup) Swamidham +91 9370553627 / +91 9730476003 / 020 32343040 and they gave me Field Engineer : (Swamidham) Datta Panchande 9373899005 number, i called him for two days continuously when he finally must have got fraustrated and answered my call. he said that i’ll get the connection working on monday for sure. i waited till tuesday and he says people from reliance came to my place and did not set the unit coz there is no connectivity and therefore the connection is bee cancelled by them and i’ll be getting a refund after 40 days and by the time i have to fill the form again and also pay again if i want the connection, i told him ok, i’ll fill the form again only after i get the refund.he said ok call me after u get the refund.now i know one thing for sure that i wont get the refund and therefore i wont have to call him and he also said that i dont have the unit at my place. i wonder what is a white antena and a powerdsine 3001 modem doing at my place and connected to my pc. how funny. now let me see who comes to collect it when there is no record of this particular unit!

    BSNL says: ur grandparents should have applied the connection when they were born and may be could have got the connection by the time ur grand children got their grandchildren married.

    SIFY says: Sell ur house and take a loan to pay our bills

    Tata says: Sorry to disturb u, but u have the pay some bills in advance

    Airtel says: (to my friend): he used the connection for 6 months > connection stopped during the day time > connection started stopping frequently > had to restart the modem after every 20~30 mins > connection lost > after that customer care says the connection is fine and will also send someone to verify it > no one came > customer care doesnt no whats DHCP; IP; Modem reseting; ENGLISH > friend didnt get the connection working from last two months but he get the bill on time

    Hathway says: We dont give connection to small places. I wonder a place with a multiplex, 6 shopping malls, best place to hang out is a small place ?! huh!

    Calling all the numbers mentioned previously for a month for connection and till now : (Atleast) Rs.1000/-
    Going to their offices daily : (Atlest petrol) Rs. 1000/-
    Rs. 562/-
    Buying a router which i found was a big mistake coz reliance did not allow to use : DLINK 26**T : Rs.3500/-
    now using nokia 6300 usb modem postpaid connection : internet : Rs.350/-
    Total : Rs.6,412
    Consumer court will give a date to follow up…
    Charged will be beared by me + Lawyer + travelling + paper work + years and years of fraustration and finally my hearing in the court will never come
    So dont do any thing, just pull the antenna apart and sell the powerdsine and the wire they gave u and get ur own refund

    hello mr prasad.i have reliance wi-max for the last 7 months and my experience with reliance wi-max in mumbai has been good except on one occasion where i migrated from one plan to another and i would get the speed of the old plan due to wrong configuring of a uneducated network engineer but that problem also got solved in 2-3 months when the network engineer got changed apart from that i have had no problems with speed,conectivity or billing.but my advise to anyone going for reliance wi-max in mumbai would be go for the connection only if the uplink and downlink frequency is greater than or equal to 17 at your place or you will have frequent speed and conectivity problems this suggestion is only for people opting for reliance wi-max in mumbai.

    I am a successful victim – Means penalized by the harassment of so called India’s best connectivity Reliance Wimax but came out clean. They have a very big communication problem, they don’t interact within their team, one team is for billing, another for complain another for satisfying customers, i must say a very good initiative but whats the point if they cant deliver- In fact dont be surprised if people keep calling you again and again have a nice time with them or blast them off. I think Mr. Anil should rethink what he is giving. So for all the above issues related to billing there is only one way you may solve your issues, write a letter (forget this email and electronic media, their email will bounce !!!! Try it!!!!) and register it to their main office and nodal office. Further send a copy to the Dot Grievance service and TRAI. Then you see things falling in place.Remember you will get a so called legal notice from one SA Associates if your are in Bangalore (God knows what kind of advocates these people are) anyways which is another joke. They will file a case on a person who had disconnected the connection and service – I have informed TRAI on this wonderful notice which i received.

    So all my dear friends, as long as you are with reliance they will charge you whatever they give you need to be happy, further if you disconnect still they will charge you further a legal notice for non payment. So be prepared, if you follow my above instructions your issues will be resolved. Let DoT and TRAI team be aware of your problems….make the best use of these departments who are really helpful to help people like us.

    I bought a connection a reliance Wimax of 1000 KBPS and the sales person told me that you can migrate the plan after your information is updated on the customer service representatives system this took me 3 week with every day calling them and asking if my details are updated on their system then the CSR make false commitment about 24/36/7 hours this will be done but no ones bother to return the call.
    Finally after 3 weeks these guys do the updation of my detail on their system (these guys dont work they sleep in the office) then i ask the CSR can i migrate the plan from 1000 KBPS to 400 KBPS with 999 unlimited rental she says no u cannot do so we have changed our policies and rules for the same you can only buy a quarterly plan u pay 8000 and u use our services for a year i said thats bad i want a monthly plan you are suggesting me a Yearly plan with you plans and policies changing according to their requirement.

    These guys simply give you the connection and harress you day and night no ones here to help you guys so the simple fact is DONT BUY RELIANCE PRODUCTS FOR SURE and the SALES REPRESENTATIVE WHO ARE WORKING WITH THEM THEY ARE SAYING THE RELIANCE ADAG IS A FRAUD.

    I am having exactly the same problem what you had. I had the same plan 750/-@4GB taken in Aug2008.
    In 15 days, I got bill of 8000 and I didn’t download even 500 MB and the connection was stopped.
    Later, I contacted the customer care,service provider guys(Vetril Systems), and they said the issue will be solved.
    But on Dec2008 I got legal notice.
    Then I have sent mails to circle head, revenue assurance responsible in reliance.But there was no response.
    Later I came to know from Vetril Systems that the problem is solved and the connection is required to be removed.The networking instruments were taken back by the Reliance comm. persons.
    But after 1 year Jan 2010, I have again received a legal notice from reliance for pending bill amount.
    Now, I tried to call the the revenue assurance responsible but I am getting no response.

    But I got some good info in this blog.
    I will try to follow suggestions by Satish.
